No henchmen for Elite Missions?
I have to say, I was looking forward to having a nose around in the Elite Missions this weekend at my own pace with some henchies but... there are none!
I wonder why?
I don't fancy pugs for those places, so I just left - back to normal PvE for me
I've still not been in those dungeons

The challenges in both would require almost completely rewriting the henchmen AI because of their complicated tactical content. The Deep requires you to split into four groups at the beginning, for example, and you have to avoid suicide bombers in Warren. In their current state henchmen just wouldn't work for this.

There are no henchmen for UW or Fissure either. You can hench ToPK but good luck getting past the first room with a full hench team. The hench simply cant handle the high level stuff.

Not really...alliances ferried people in, so there were still just as many Zodiacs coming out...

Now I can afford a decent zodiac! Weehee!
Anyways, henchmen would have been a horrible thing to put in the elite missions. No matter how good you are with controlling your henchmen team they are almost guarenteed to not get past the first part in either mission. They'd have to turn the henchmen into these super AI npcs and than nobody would bother making a real group... they'd just take these buffed up henchies.

Look at how many districts there are in the Deep now and compare it to before the event. Drops even at double drop rate are still relatively rare. The increased number of people doing the Elite missions will likely account for the drop in Zodiac prices.

drops seemed good to me, just finished a run. 4/5 chests were gold and we had over 10 gold items drop from monsters

Indeed. A run this morning produced no more luck than normal, but after the update the drops were markedly better.

drop rate has doubled. instead of 1 gold for every 1000 enemies, it is one for every 500. still rare.

There was a bug that made the chance of you getting rare drops even less rather than the double chance that was said!
Thankfully this has been fixed in the latest update
Quote:
Update - Friday August 4
Modified henchmen respawn behavior in PVP battles. Henchmen with 60% Death Penalty will not respawn when they die.
Fixed a bug in Elite missions that caused rare items to drop less frequently than intended during the Elite Weekend event.
